Author Guidelines

General.

All submitted manuscripts to EEEJ must use the style guidelines prescribed below. Submissions can be exercises in any undergraduate or graduate course, in any discipline, as long as it relates to entrepreneurship. Unless specifically acknowledged, they must be original, not previously published, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors retain all copyright and give the journal a license per the Copyright Agreement.

Submission of Manuscripts.

EEEJ employs a two-way blind referee system. Thus, a title page is uploaded separately and not sent to referees. The title page must include the following information for each author:

  • Full name
  • Institution
  • Complete street address
  • Email address
  • Short biographical sketch (50 words max)
  • Phone number (for corresponding author only)

The title page should also include the keywords and any acknowledgments. The main document, which will be sent to the referees, must not contain identifying information in the document or the file name.

Papers must be carefully edited to remove grammatical and typographic errors before submission. As an author, you are required to secure permission if you want to reproduce any figure, table, or extract from the text of another source. This applies to direct reproduction as well as “derivative reproduction” (where you have created a new figure or table which derives substantially from a copyrighted source). Refereed and edited papers will be sent to the author for further consideration if the paper is acceptable. Upon final agreement and acceptance by the author and the editor of the approved and edited paper, authors should follow the submission instructions explained above. Authors retain their copyright and grant EEEJ a license.

Format. 

Manuscripts should be double-spaced, unjustified, with normal margins top, bottom, and sides, and with pages numbered consecutively. They must follow the format below:

Manuscript title:

Abstract: (100 words or less)

Keywords: (6 or less)

Manuscript Subject Area: (e.g., marketing, finance, business model, pitching, ideation)

Manuscript Subject Topic: (e.g., pricing, cash flow projection, customer development)

Student Level: (Undergraduate or Graduate)

Time Required: (in minutes)

Recommended Number of Students: (range is acceptable)

Concept: Maximum four (4) pages that explain the exercise such that any educator can implement the exercise in their class. Set the exercise up and provide the details of how to facilitate it.

Student Reaction: Maximum one (1) page reaction from a student who recently experienced the exercise. This can be a positive or a negative reaction – the choice is yours.

Appendix: Include any necessary files for an instructor to implement this exercise in their class. This can include teaching notes, spreadsheet, Word or Powerpoint templates, etc.

References: References should follow the referencing format and practices of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 5th ed.

Illustrations. Illustrations submitted (drawings, photos, etc.) should be high quality digital files following these guidelines: at least 300 dpi or higher, sized to fit a 6 x 9 inch page, EPX, TIFF, or PSD format only.

Tables and Figures. Figures should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate files. A short descriptive title or caption should appear below each table or figure with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below.  All unites must be included. Figures should be numbered consecutively and completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. Captions should be typed and double-spaced in manuscript.
